JIM BEAM FLOW JAM 2012 10 March 2012

Wave House Sentosa turned war zone with more than 50 flowboarders from Singapore and Malaysia contesting in the Jim Beam Flow Jam 2012. The crazy got crazier, the sickest went over the scale and the thunders only made the battles more epic. Graced by the man himself Mr Ryan Besido from Beam Global Asia, the Jim Beam Flow Jam is held for the third consecutive year with wide spread participation from riders in different divisions.

The day’s events kicked off with warm-up heats right after the riders signed in for their goodies. Mood: Generally friendly…

Briefing by Joe Ang before the competition.

Shortly after the competition briefing, fearless exchanges were fired in the qualifying heats for the limited spots in the finals!

Pro Bodyboarder, David showing his awesome move on the FlowRider.

“It has been such a spectacular event so far, I’m pleasantly ‘shocked’ at how strong the Malaysian riders are in the bodyboard divsions! Its worth every effort to make the event happen for these riders and I’m expecting to see a lot of them sticking around for the next Flow Jam and also the Flow Tour Asia 2012.”, FLOW (Singapore) Terry Goh commented.

Seasoned flowboarder Ong Jiang Xiang scored a heroic hat-trick of 3 solid runs without wipe out against crowd favourites Billabong’s Alfian Affandi, Rip Curl’s Arthur Kor and 2011 Asian Flow Series’ Sham Jamal. “I surprised myself this time around. I was feeling really good today and the sessions i’d put in gave me a lot of confidence especially after the injury last year. The guys were great today, they were killing it but I have a bit of luck today!” quipped the humble Ong.

The Jim Beam Flow Jam 2012 was jointly organised by Beam Global Asia and Wave House Sentosa. This partnership is set to create another mayhem in a 2nd Flow Jam on the FlowBarrel this year. Details coming soon!

May the Flow be with you!
