Wave House Sentosa and WaveLoch will engage efforts to take the FlowBarrel Wave Attraction to the next level in August.

The series of upgrades will sharply define the shape and speed of the wave, which, in turn, will enhance the Rider's experience and push the sport of flowriding further than ever.

On May 23, 2008, Wave Loch filed a patent infringement suit against American Wave Machines (“AWM”), a company founded by Bruce McFarland, a former Wave Loch contract draftsman and engineer who had access to Wave Loch’s design schematics, proprietary know-how, trade secrets and intellectual property. Since his departure from Wave Loch, Mr. McFarland has attempted to commercialize a stationary-wave surf attraction called SurfStream, which, in Wave Loch’s view, is remarkably similar to our FlowRider® stationary sheet wave attraction.

Alfian Affandi and Ili Lim travelled all the way to San Diego, California to compete in the 2010 CBS College Sports Network’s Alt Games: College Action Sports Championships, Jack in the Box College Flowboarding Championship. After practicing non stop with the other competitors during the days prior to the event, Alfie adjusted to the Bruticus Maximus, San Diego's FlowBarrel. The games kicked off at 8am and featured eight heats of riders. Alfie and Steffan Morris from heat five advanced to the finals right off the bat, giving Alfie some time to kick back.
